A guava is named after Aishwarya Rai

An acclaimed horticulturist is developing a new variety of guava and has named it after Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai. Kaleemullah Khan, who was given the Padamshree for his incredible feat of growing more than 300 varieties of mangoes of different shapes and sizes on a single tree, is now grafting a new variety of guava that he promises will be sweeter and will have softer seeds.

The horticulturist is naming this new guava after Aishwarya Rai. He has already named one mango variety after the actress.

Khan took eight years to develop this new guava. So it’s quite an honour for Ash.
