Asin and Salman on a tree for 3 days

A simple scene turned into a nightmare for Salman Khan and Asin when the two had to hang from a tree for three days. It was meant to be a simple jungle sequence to be shot in Goregaon's Film City for Anees Bazmi's forthcoming film, Ready, but it turned out to be a nightmare for the lead pair, Salman Khan and Asin. The scene revolved around Asin being lost in a jungle, and scampering up a tree, with Khan following suit. Says a unit source, "Both Salman and the director were not sure if Asin could carry it off.

Climbing a high tree is not quite what you'd expect a heroine to do, especially since this was a massive tree with sprawling branches. One look at the size of the tree and the director decided to use a duplicate for Asin and Salman."

But Asin would hear none of it. "She insisted on doing the dangerous scene herself. Salman looked at her as if she was crazy. He finally said, 'Lady, you have balls of steel.' A harness was attached to her shoulders, and she was lowered on to the tree. Salman had no choice but to follow suit," says the source.

What was meant to be a simple shot, took three whole days to complete. "The unit had not anticipated disruptions and distractions from other film units that were shooting in the jungle. Suddenly there was a funeral procession that passed under the tree, and that had Salman and Asin crack up."

Many other distractions too brought the shooting to a grinding halt.

So exhausted were the two actors, that the shoot had to be cancelled. Asin's shoulders were numb because of the pressure from the harness.

"Salman and I were shooting on top of a tree for three days. Was it dangerous? I don't care! It is my childhood fantasy to climb a tree," laughed Asin.

That's a heavy price to pay to see your fantasy come true!

Ready: Bhushan Kumar film ready already have a music director

In all his excitement, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar forgot that the movie he's producing (Ready) already had a music director (Pritam).

Kumar, who also owns the music rights of Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan, asked her husband Shirish Kunder to compose a track for the Salman Khan starrer.

Says a source from T-Series, "Farah's hubby has composed the theme song of TMK and Bhushan has been getting mind-blowing reactions from distributors and his friends. He too loved it. He asked Shirish recently at an event to compose a similar theme song for Ready."

The problem is, Pritam has already composed the music of Ready. "The composer will be very upset if Bhushan takes on another music director and hogs the credit. The composer will throw tantrum and refuse to compose any more songs

Asin says what went wrong with John starrer

Asin announced loud and clear that she wasn't doing the Hindi remake of KAKKA KAKKA. One always wondered what went wrong though, considering the fact that when producer Vipul Shah announced this film with John in the lead and Nishikant Kamat (of MUMBAI MERI JAAN) as a director, Asin's name had made it to the top of the list as the preferred choice for the leading lady. Since the experienced actress from down South had already worked with Vipul in the past (LONDON DREAMS), it seemed like the right decision as well.
"Yes, I won't deny that I was earlier supposed to work in this film", accepts Asin while detailing out the series of events that changed the course of the star cast, "In fact I had done the Telugu remake of the same film so I was pretty much aware about the setting and the role. However, at that time, Gautham Menon (who had directed the original KAKKA KAKKA) was supposed to direct the Hindi version as well."

However, things change in due course of time with Nishikant Kamat coming on board instead of Gautham Menon.

CHECK OUT: Asin clears air on John and Ranbir starrers

"I didn't have any issues with that", clarifies Asin, "However, with a new director coming in, there were certain changes that he wanted to incorporate in the script. Further work on this took time and fortunately or unfortunately, I had my dates committed to READY (with Salman Khan) and Tamil flick KAAVALAN (with Vijay). There was no way that I could readjust my date diaries."

With a firm stance of 'all is well' being taken by the actress, Asin says that she along with Vipul know the real truth and hence there is no bad blood between two of them.

"Vipul also understood my situation when I mentioned to him about my prior commitment to the other two films", Asin eases up here, "We sat across the table and tried to figure out a way but then there wasn't much that we could do. It was eventually a mutual decision and we parted on a friendly note. You never know, we could be working
with each other again in some other assignment."

Actress Asin says no to Sallu, in talks with SRK, Saif

Asin declines Salman's offer to star in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Kavalan since she wants to act with other stars and get serious about her Bollywood career. When Salman Khan saw glimpses of Tamil film Kavalan, starring Vijay and Asin in the lead, he was bowled over. In its Hindi remake titled, Bodyguard that is being produced by sister Alvira, he decided to cast Asin as his female lead. Asin, however, declined the offer.

After London Dreams, Khan and Asin found themselves acting opposite each other in Anees Bazmi's Ready. If she had accepted, this would have been her third film with the actor. Asin is guarded while answering questions about the films she declined. "It isn't right to talk about what I didn't do. I've just wrapped up Kavalan.

In fact, when director Siddique made the same film in Malayalan two years ago, I couldn't be part of it then too. So I promised him I'd do the Tamil version, which I have now done."

Says a source, "Asin said a polite 'no' to the Kavalan remake for two reasons: after Ghajini, where she starred in both the Telugu and Hindi version, another Telugu-to-Hindi remake seemed monotonous.

Moreover, three films in a row with Salman would've sent wrong signals to Bollywood. Asin wants to work with other stars too." A source reveals that Khan is supportive of her decision and understands that she is still new to the Hindi film industry.

"One makes wrong choices, turns down roles in films that eventually turn out to be hits. No regrets. I'd rather focus on getting my act right, "says Asin. The actress is in talks over signing a film with actor Shah Rukh Khan, and another with Saif Ali Khan.
