NO ONE KILLED JESSICA celebrates media

Rajkumar Gupta's NO ONE KILLED JESSICA shows media as righteous and powerful machinery. Sometimes media gets brickbats and misleading portrayal in movies that tarnish its image in the minds of the people BUT NO ONE KILLED JESSICA portrays otherwise.
The soon to be released movie NOKJ is inspired from model Jessica Lall's murder case. The movie shows that if media uses its power correctly it can make a huge difference. The film does not mock the judiciary system. It simply portrays the real life factual event. Rani is playing the character of Meera, represents media as a whole. Her character not being inspired by anyone in particular, she has all attributes of media holistically.

Jessica’s identity still not revealed

Everywhere you look for Jessica, all you can see is Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan and by now everyone knows that neither of these two ladies is Jessica but then who is? Jessica Lall is played by Myra Karn. Who is Myra? Well, she is a model but search for her on the web and even Google seems to be clueless about what this lady looks like.

Director Rajkumar Gupta has been very smart in keeping the identity of 'Jessica' under the wraps. Apparently, Gupta met Myra Karn at a coffee shop and finalised her for the film. He thought she had the looks and the character to play Jessica, reported Mumbai Mirror.

It is believed that producers and the director did not want to reveal the model's identity till the time the film was released and considering Myra is a newcomer, no one predicted people would get to know about it, a source told the tabloid.

Rani Mukherjee is happy to be journalist in film

Rani Mukherjee is coming back with a bang. After a slew of weepy roles, the actress steps into the shoes of a fiery, foul-mouthed crime reporter in No One Killed Jessica which is slated to release on January 7. The 32-year-old actress said that by playing the role of crime reporter she realized how difficult and risky is the job. “Through my character in the film I am sure people will respect and salute them for the kind of job they do. It is very fascinating profession where the basic job requirement is to be fearless and brave. I feel great that I am portraying the role of a crime reporter,” Rani is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Stressing on the risk faced by crime reporters, Rani added: “When we see crime reporters on TV we do not understand how difficult and risky their work is. I think in a day-to-day life, crime reporting is more risky as they are unaware of what assignment they would go for. They go to weird and dangerous places. Especially for girls it is tougher.”

The film, directed by Rajkumar Gupta, is based on the murder of model Jessica Lall in 1999 by Manu Sharma, son of a Haryana politician, in a Delhi night club. It has Vidya Balan playing Jessica's sister Sabrina, who fought the case to get justice and Rani plays a journalist in the movie.

“The very fact that I am playing a journalist in the film is also one of the reasons why I am part of it. It is the first time that media is shown in a powerful light in the movie,” Rani said.

Bollywood Stars In Saris: Priyanka, Bipasha, Vidya, Katrina, Deepika Or Shilpa?

Bollywood actresses and their various style mantras are always in big focus whether it is their western outfits or otherwise. The Indian traditional outfits have always been something which has been under the scanner as soon as the B town actresses wear it. However, no other garment has made such an impact such as the sari.

The sari is the most popular garment in the traditional Indian context of fashion. This attire has undergone quite a change in the way it used to be draped around a woman.

The Bollywood top female stars who look simply great in this six yard cloth are of course many. But the ones who truly look stunning are Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Shilpa Shetty.

Who can forget Priyanka Chopra in the Desi Girl number from the flick Dostana,, looking piping hot ? Or Bipasha Basu creating a storm in her beautiful sari at the IIFA Awards?

Even Deepika Padukone at the Cannes film festival in an exquisite sari was the talk of the nation, while Kat is well known for her wet sari look in most of her films. Vidya Balan makes it a point to look as cool as ever in sari at most formal events and ditto Shipla Shetty, who is quite often spotted in this attire at public events that almost start the nation’s heart beating a tad bit faster.

Well, with most of our Bollywood stars opting for this Indian attire to look their best it seems like the fans of these stars just can’t get enough of them. Each time a star appears in a designer sari-it becomes a rage with almost every one wanting the same look.

The sari has traveled a long way from being a modest garment to being transformed into the most fashionable garment from the Indian attire range. Now with all these beauties mentioned above looking astoundingly smashing in the sari it’s a tough job to pick who the best one is. What do you think?

Vidya Balan’s Hidden Talent

Apart from playing strong characters in her films, there’s another little known fact associated with actress Vidya Balan which has largely gone unnoticed so far and has now come to the fore.

Now we hear that the actress has a poetic side to her which she displays only when she is in her best mood or in the company of her best buddies. Not only that, Vidya is a good mimic too and can mime anyone, especially the famous film personalities.

Adds our source, “Vidya has composed her own couplets. She has a bank of ready shayari which she reveals at times much to the pleasure of her close friend circle. When she is in her best mood, you can see Vidya showing her poetic side. Apart from that, Vidya also loves to do some mimicry. The actress can copy all the established Bollywood stars with perfect ease.”

Though we may not have known this fact before, but this revelation surely adds to her fun loving character.
