Kareena and saif getting engaged

Grapevine has it that the much-talked about couple in the film industry are set to give an official ring to their relationship. Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor (aka Saifeena) have apparently decided to get engaged formally, but are yet to take a decision on marriage, and it doesn’t seem likely that they plan to tie the knot soon. “They want to announce to the whole world that they are engaged. Now, whether they want to have an official engagement ceremony or want to have a party to celebrate their engagement is up to them. Both of them have spoken about it, and have arrived at the decision that they can announce their engagement to the whole world,” says the source.

Khan has apparently given Kapoor a huge rock, which she apparently wears but chooses not to talk about, and till date she has not admitted to the fact. But the most curious part is that, it was apparently Kapoor’s decision that marriage at this point in her career will not be a good move, a source told After Hrs.

“They are more in love than a married couple and both of them feel the nikaah can happen later on. Bebo (Kareena’s pet name) feels that getting engaged to each other is the right decision rather than getting married because a marriage might slow down the career of an actress,” the source adds.

The big question is the announcement, whether to have a grand party or not to have a party. “The decision rests on both of them. The whole world knows that they are very much together and getting engaged will just put a sort of an official stamp on it. Marriage will happen when it’s supposed to happen,” ends the source. Apparently the engagement talks are happening in the Kapoor household for quite sometime now, so it just remains to be seen when the announcement comes…

Kareena finally patches up with Priyanka

Everybody knows that Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra don't see eye to eye. However, they surprised everyone recently by hugging in public. It happened at the Mumbai Police Mela held at Andheri. Priyanka was performing to the track “Desi Girl” when Saif Ali Khan and Shah Rukh Khan joined her on stage. Then she saw Kareena and gestured her to join them. They embraced each other on stage.

It is said that Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Farhan Akhtar have been trying to convince the actors to patch up. It was apparent that the trio planned the patch up, as Saif was spotted taking a photograph while Kareena and Priyanka were hugging.

Well, it may be recalled that all was not well between Kareena and Priyanka. Besides the rumours that Priyanka is seeing the former's ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor, the duo hit out at each other at Karan Johar's TV show Koffee With Karan.

Since the announcement of Aamir Khan's next film, his fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out who would be cast opposite him. The film will be co-produced by Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Sidhwani and Aamir.

3 Idiots is the biggest hit in the history of Hindi cinema. Naturally, every actress in the country would want to work with the Ghajini actor.

Every B-Town belle has sent him feelers and expressed the desire to woo him on the big screen. But according to our source, Kareena Kapoor has bagged the romantic lead opposite Aamir Khan.

Deepika Padukone was a strong contender for the leading lady part. Reveals an insider, "It's a two-heroine film. Aamir was keen to repeat his 3 Idiots leading lady.

“Meanwhile, Riteish and Farhan wanted Deepika as they've worked with her before in Karthik Calling Karthik and found her to be a thorough professional and sincere in her attitude towards work. However, they all decided to go with Bebo. What worked in her favour is their last big hit together and the fact that AK believes she fits into any character comfortably."

In contention
The insider swears that talks are on with Katrina Kaif to play the second female lead. The yet-to-be titled suspense drama is being directed by Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd director Reema Kagti. The film will go on floors on February 2011.

SHAH RUKH: ‘Raj or SRK, he’s every woman’s dream’ He’s been the Badshah of Bollywood for years. And is as lovable and energetic off screen, as he is on it. After Asoka, Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham and Billu, in which I made a special appearance in a song, we’re now working on Ra.One. It’s exciting being a part of a fantasy adventure in the superhero genre and from what I’ve seen Shah Rukh will pull it off.

There’s been talk that since Robot’s release, some of the super effects are being redone or upgraded. That’s non-sense! RA.One is going to introduce you to SFX that you have never seen before.

Shah Rukh and Arjun (Rampal) have their superhero costumes. For once, I’m glad they are not a part of my wardrobe, and for a change, the weight loss controversy is dogging my co-stars rather than me. For me, the biggest high as far as this film goes, is Akon’s song. That will be my memento!

SALMAN: ‘He’ll make me the envy of all women’

Salman is our Rajnikant, from Maine Pyaar Kiya to Dabangg, he’s been amazing! His expressive eyes have won the hearts of trillions and I’m one of them.

I’ve worshipped him since I was a star-gazer on the sets of Jagruti. In that film, he was paired with my sister and they continue to share a great bond. Salman is protective of Karisma, actually he’s protective of me too, probably because he’s known me since I was really young.

Our first film together was Main Aurr Mrs Khanna last Diwali. Now I’m getting ready for the hottest bodyguard, one that would make me the envy of all the women. The film has a great role for me too, and that should also make me the envy of other Bollywood actors.

Baby (Salman’s sister Alvira who is producing the film) really wanted me for the role not just because I looked the part but because she believed I could carry it off. It’s great to get a vote of confidence for your talent and I think Bodyguard will be the perfect film for Salman and me.

AAMIR: ‘He’s the God of everything to do with our movies’

I love Aamir Khan. What a genius! He’s the God of everything to do with movies. Saif rags me saying once we’re on the subject of Aamir it’s going to be a three-hour conversation.

What to do, I respect him immensely. He’s right up there as far as performances go. I’ve been waiting to work with him forever. I got a chance when Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) cast us in 3 Idiots. Now I’m hoping for a repeat.

IMRAN: ‘Saif says we make a great pair’

I haven’t seen much of Imran’s work. I liked him in Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na. He made me laugh and that’s a tough job. He’s growing fast with every film and is one of the dark horses who should go far. He looks stunningly beautiful on screen!

I don’t know him too well. We haven’t started shooting for Short Term Shaadi yet. But Saif, after watching him in I Hate Luv Storys, feels that he’s bright and talented. And that he and I make a great pair. I trust Saif’s judgement!

SAIF: ‘He’s worked on his own terms’

What sets Saif apart from a number of other actors is his belief in himself and the movies he makes. That’s why he’s taken so many risks in his career. Right from Parampara to Love Aaj Kal, Qurbaan and now Agent Vinod, Saif has worked on his own terms.

He’s a great actor and I’m not just saying that because of our personal relationship. He’s versatile and intelligent, a great combination of beauty and brains. He’ll always be a leader, given the way he thinks. He makes me so proud!

For the last one year he’s been completely focused on Agent Vinod. He’s been obsessed with the genre since he was a kid. And I think he’s the right guy to make a film along the lines of a Bond or a Bourne Identity.

He’s cultured, has had a wonderful education and upbringing, and despite being a Bollywood actor, he’s kinda international.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor refuse to perform at a gutkha wedding where everyone from Salman to SRK will be dancing. The duo has decided as a rule to stop performing at weddings, no matter what fee is offered

Most of B-Town including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif at a wedding in Delhi on November 18. But one couple have decided to stay away from it in spite of being offered big bucks Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

Not for strangers

Says a source, "The couple was offered to perform at the wedding between two gutkha families and were offered almost Rs 4 crore but they turned it down.

They had taken a decision over a year ago that no matter what the price offered, they would not dance at wedding functions of strangers. That is strictly reserved for family and friends."

The reason for the star couple's non-performances at weddings is parental disapproval. Mainly his. The chote nawab comes from a royal family, and it is belittling for them to perform at weddings for cash.

Even Bebo's parents weren't exactly thrilled with the idea of them dancing at private functions. While shows and events like award functions are fine, they draw the line at weddings.

Saifeena were shocked to hear that they were part of the 'gutkha wedding' in the media and decided to clarify their stand."

Hum bhi nahin...

While Saif and Kareena took the decision not to perform at weddings a year ago, Ajay Devgn and his wife Kajol have never performed at weddings.

It's a stand they had taken right in the beginning of their careers and till now, haven't changed their minds though they have been offered big money to perform together.

In fact, Devgn has often expressed his displeasure of stars performing at shows, events and weddings. Sunil Shetty also doesn't perform at weddings.

They are both from Delhi. Both are self made super stars who have reached the pinnacle of success without any godfather/relative in the Hindi film industry. We are obviously talking about Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar who share a very good personal relationship
It's common knowledge that Shah Rukh visited Akshay Kumar on the sets of BLUE last year and bonded with the 'Khiladi' for quite some time. And now it was the turn of Akshay who made it a point to visit Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of his SFX extravaganza, the Anubhav Sinha directed RA.ONE. Unit sources inform that Shah Rukh and Akshay bonded big time again, talking to each other for quite a long time and SRK even showed Akki the rushes of RA.ONE. The buzz doing the rounds is that Akshay was very impressed by the rushes especially, those of the mind blowing action sequences.

It's certainly good to see such bonhomie and bonding among big stars and here's hoping that they come together again and make our dil pagal like in DIL TO PAGAL HAI.

Kareena Kapoor to choose one between Karan Johar & Aamir Khan

The lady is big in demand! She is already on board for Karan’s next Short Term Shaadi, and is also wanted for Aamir’s next film to be produced by Farhan Akhtar. Both the films will start from February 2011 and Kareena can’t decide which movie to select and which to dump. Obviously, she wants to work in both.

It’s learnt that Bebo has already committed dates that Aamir Khan’s film needs to Karan’s Short Term Shaadi, opposite Imran Khan. In fact, she was finalized for STS before Aamir’s film was offered to her. But then, saying no to Aamir’s film can be a big loss for her and a good gain for any of her contemporaries. According to sources, Aamir has also in his mind Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif for the film.

On the other hand, KJo can’t delay his film, he has made adjustments for Imran - who is getting married on January 11 - for Short Term Shaadi, and any further delay can create problems for the whole production team.

Objection taken against Shreyas' stammering act in Golmaal 3

Films in Bollywood have always been at the receiving end of both, bouquets as well as the brickbats. On the same thought, if you thought that the recently released comic caper Golmaal 3 (aka G-3) was at the receiving end of bouquets for its performances as well as its funny one liners, well, it seems that it's the time for the film to be receiving the brickbats.

Those who have seen the film will know that the character played by Shreyas Talpade has been shown as someone with a stammering problem. Even though the cinegoers have loved his stammered performance on screen, there is a controversy that has taken birth over his character. The Indian Stammering Association (TISA), based out of Dehradun, felt that Shreyas' character in Golmaal 3 mocks people who stammer. That's why they have slammed the film's makers with a lawsuit. TISA not only found the character played by Shreyas pretty objectionable, but also the fact that his character was always at the receiving end of jokes and ridicules by his other characters in the film. TISA has now sent a legal notice to the producers asking them to delete all the scenes where the character stammers and respond to it before a December 14 deadline."

While the spokesperson of Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision said that their legal department is looking into it, Shreyas feels that the people should look at it in a positive way, as the character he played is the hero of the film and that one should not make an issue out of it.

Kareena is full of praise for Shahid Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor might not be on talking terms but this does not stop Bebo from showering praise on the actor. Recently, in an interview, Kareena has admitted that she likes Shahid as an actor and thinks highly of his talent. Kareena also made it clear that she is open to working with Shahid in future and will not shy away if the right opportunity comes her way.

Though Kareena might be contemplating marriage with Saif Ali Khan, it seems the actress has no qualms about dealing with her past love Shahid when it comes to being professional.

There was a time when Shahid and Kareena were romantically involved. Then Kareena shifted her mind towards Saif Ali khan.
